๐ฑ Welcome to Regreen The Earth Project - Lets Learn how to Revitalize Our Earth Together
Join us in transforming desertified lands into thriving ecosystems for future generations.
Inspiring and transformative
โ โ โ โ โ
We are a moderate-size Nature and farmland research project, active for the past six years on the desertified part of Gran Canaria, in the Canary Island archipelago!
Our research farm serves as a living laboratory, testing practical solutions for regeneration in dry climates similar to much of the American Southwest, Mediterranean Europe, the Middle East, across India, and parts of China.
Bit by bit, through observation, experiments, and open sharing, we are learning how to help Nature heal herself.
We have seen that regeneration is possible โ anywhere.
Nature responds when we give it a chance to heal.
We are building a Simple yet Practical knowledge Hub of inspirational information on Regeneration for everyone to Enjoy & Share ๐ฑ
๐ฑ Research & Learning
Our goal is to understand and demonstrate how Natureโs own systems can be supported to restore degraded landscapes.
We explore:
How vegetation can return in dry, rocky environments.
How soil life and water cycles can be reactivated.
How people can live, grow food, and work with Nature โ not against her.
Our work shows that desertification can be reversed, and that regeneration can even create new livelihoods and renew communities.
๐ Sharing Knowledge Globally
Since the beginning, we have been sharing our gained knowledge about the Environmental History of Nature here on Gran Canaria and how this enormous 75% desertification happened.
We therefore research how this process can be turned around, while at the same time creating benefit and income for local society โ and not least, for Nature in the process!
On our farm, we do this by showing visitors around, letting them see and taste produce from plants that can help to turn desertification around.
We also organize weekly hiking expeditions to interesting and forgotten parts of the island, where we explore the environmental history of nature, farming, and culture โ sharing what we have learned and listening to the stories of others.
Our approach is practical, joyful, and community-based โ built on curiosity, shared learning, and action.
๐ฟ What We Do
We now think that it could be interesting and useful if we make our research available to everyone through the global internet worldwide. ๐
Because the more we collectively know about how to practically reverse desertification, the better we can accomplish it! ๐
So we will start to share all the existing knowledge that we have found practical, applicable, and inspiring โ the things that have helped guide us and others in this work.
We aim to create a growing, modest Knowledge Hub on this subject โ with what we have learned and with your input on what you think could also be included in our web hub library!
Together, we can build a shared map of regeneration, connecting ideas, resources, and people across drylands around the world.
๐ Our Belief
Weโve seen barren land come back to life โ and we know it can happen everywhere.
This isnโt theory. Itโs possible, practical, and happening now.
Each small action โ planting, learning, sharing โ matters.
I invite you to be part of, and contribute to, this initiative to gather and share knowledge about restoring the balance between people and our Earth.
With gratitude,
Erik
